Good news!
Figtree Christmas Fest is a go!
Figtree Community Carols has unfortunately been cancelled for 2024.
It is our sad responsibility to let you know that it has been necessary to make a decision to cancel Figtree Community Carols for 2024.
We are very grateful for the generosity of Figtree High School, who have allowed the carols event to be held on their lower sports field for many years. Part of the reason we have enjoyed an excellent venue in the past is because of the care taken by the grounds staff at the high school to preserve the facility. However, inspections of the sports field in recent days have deemed that it has not sufficiently dried, in critical and heavy vehicle traffic areas for carols, from the storms of last month. As such, the sports field conditions as of today have been classified as unsuitable to host carols. Further consultation, with the Bureau of Meteorology, suggests that we should not expect the required drying conditions over the coming week that will return the sports field to an appropriate condition.
Of course, the question at this point is, 'why not wait and see?' Figtree Community Carols goes ahead with the services of numerous vendors and equipment suppliers. Cancellation rates increase exponentially and significantly the closer we get to the date of the event. The most appropriate course of action, in light of the information we have available, is to not place ourselves at high risk of a significant financial loss.
We share with you the disappointment of not being able to proceed with Figtree Community Carols this year. We take this opportunity, however, to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and extend an invitation for you to join us at Figtree Anglican Church’s Christmas services this year:

SUPPORTING THE RURAL FIRE SERVICE
It has been a longstanding tradition of Figtree Community Carols to take up a donation on the night for the local RFS. Last year, thanks to the generous donations of those who contributed, we were able to raise over $2,200. This year, there will be three ways to give in support of our RFS. Join us in supporting the RFS by giving securely online via the button below, or on the night give in cash.
